2023 Opening Remarks

As a chair of this conference, it is great pleasure and privilege to welcome you in the 55^th International Symposium of the Korean Society for Food Science of Animal Resources at Kimdaejung Conventional Center, Gwangju, Korea, May18~20, 2023. The topics of this symposium is “New paradigm for the future Animal –derived foods with the combination of traditional livestock & Foodtech’. There were many new research paradigms through 4^th industrial revolution and our livestock is getting worse due to the “Neutral Carbon Policy” internationally. To cope with this current situation, we have excellent 4 plenary and keynote sessions, 1 government session and 8 concurrent sessions including 41 excellent speakers through the conference. I think that we may have more than 300 scholars, researchers, and graduate students from domestic and outside countries might attend this conference, and discuss the future trend for the animal derived foods with current research accomplishments.

As you know, the Korean Society for Food Science of Animal Resources has been well known for its expertise as the largest society in Korea related to animal-derived foods. It is also a representative academic society that publishes Food Science of Animal Resources (FSAR), an international academic journal and Food and Life Journal.

It’s been an honor and privilege to serve as a chair of the conference, we thank you for all sponsors to financial support this conference and really appreciate their assistance. I also thank for all the committee members to organize and prepare this conference well.  Without their sincere assistances, I couldn’t hold this international conference today. I hope that this conference will be successfully finished and excellent results will be come out during this conference. I wish everyone good health!
